a word from the Governator

Governor Arnold on California’s budget crisis:

“California no longer has low-hanging fruits. As a matter of fact, we don’t have any medium-hanging fruits. We also don’t have any high-hanging fruits. We literally have to take the ladder away from the tree and shake the whole tree.”

Medium-hanging fruits? Is that an agricultural term? But, but…wait… if we don’t have any low-, medium-, or high- hanging fruits left, then what fruits do we have? Inside-hanging fruits? Maybe…we don’t have any fruits after all?!? O snap. Maybe the California tree is just not in season?

Somewhere in California, a speech writer is having trouble believing he actually got away with this.
