Moments: Was that who I think it was?

Today, I think I rode the bus with Charlie. Charlie as in Charles Townes, Nobel Prize winner in Physics, 1964. He currently has offices in Birge Hall on the UCB Campus and at the Space Sciences Lab up on the hill, where I ride the Hill line bus every Monday afternoon to help out a bit with the SETI project (I’m not going to tell you what that acronym stands for. Just Google it. You might be surprised.) He is also currently 94 years old. Oh yeah, and he also pretty much invented the laser. Yeah: invented the laser. THE LASER.

And he was on my bus. Charlie. Nobelpris. LASER. Whoa.
